PRODUCE uncovers the emotional and cultural layers behind eating—guilt, joy, habits, and identity. From recipes to real talk, it reveals how nourishment shapes survival, self-worth, and personal transformation beyond weight loss.
The Battle of the Bulge
One of the group leaders of my weight management program humorously refers to people outside of the program as "civilians," as in people who have never experienced obesity (and blatantly or passively-aggressively want to become healthier).
The blog is for my "soldiers" out there, fighting the good fight, one pound at a time. But one thing I have learned is that it is so much more than just "eat some vegetables, lose some weight." We're humans after all (in theory). If it were as simple as "eat some vegetables, lose some weight," there would be no obesity as we know it.
So this is for my hungry human soldiers with lives, sensitivities, and flaws, to let you know that you are not alone in this. And while you might lose some battles, you can still win the war. This blog strategizes my plan of attack in three areas of discussion:
